Don´t call this a comeback story..

From Billboard.com:

As expected, Britney Spears' "Circus" makes a big bow at the top of The Billboard 200, becoming her fifth No. 1. The Jive set moved 505,000 copies in the United States, making Spears the only act in Nielsen SoundScan history to have four albums debut with 500,000 or more.Since SoundScan began tracking data in 1991, only four acts -- aside from Spears -- have notched three 500,000-starts: 2Pac, 50 Cent, Garth Brooks and Jay-Z.

Previously, her second, third and fourth sets all racked up half-million weeks: 2000's "Oops! I Did It Again" started with 1.3 million, 2001's "Britney" debuted with 746,000 and 2003's "In the Zone" entered the chart with 609,000. Among female artists, only four have earned more No. 1 albums: Barbra Streisand (eight), Madonna (seven) and Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson (both with six).

On the Billboard Hot 100 to be released tomorrow, Spears scores her first top 10 debut as the set's title cut debuts at No. 3. The song, which she performed live on ABC's "Good Morning America" the day "Circus" hit retail, opens at No. 1 on Hot Digital Songs with 212,000 downloads. With her former No. 1 single "Womanizer" at No. 10 on the Hot 100, Spears places two tracks simultaneously in that chart's top 10 for the first time in her career.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow, this is the biggest week ever in Britney's musical career. Such an acomplishment and to come after everything she has been through. This is a big statement from her.

It brought a smile to my face :)

When will this stop!?!?!

I know I haven't blogged in the longest time, but I have been the busiest that I've ever been in my life. It's crazy, but I'm enjoying most of it. To begin with, I started work a couple of weeks ago, I now work for Comcast Call Center for Houston, TX. Who knew they do customer service for American companies in Mexico? Oh well, I mean work is great and I have great friends and stuff but the thing is that I work 48 hours and it just gets so stressful all of the time, more when you're dealing with the same type of issues every day, all day.

Also, I'm about to begin college at UVM here in the GDL town, and I'm going through a major deciding point in my life where I left my Journalism major aside and decided to become an Engineer of Computer Systems. WTF? Why that change??! Trust me, I don't even know.

I promise I will post more often, if possible, but right now time is gold for me. But I'll defitinely leave you with what I'm listening right now:

The Flaming Lips- The Yeah Yeah Song.
Solange- Sandcastle Disco.
Pink- So What.
MGMT- Time to Pretend.

P.S: Oh yeah, Britney will not be performing at the VMAs, even though she was three nods.

A WHOLE NEW BRITNEY

There is really not many things that can actually motivate me to write a blog after an exhausting week at work on a Saturday night but to see my favorite popstar in the world come back from the ashes like Britney Spears just did. This week or so Britney has emerged from hiding looking as happy and gorgeous as she was a few years ago. She is even coming back to the spotlight slowly but surely.

It has been almost a year since Britney's "terrible" VMA performance which I was able to "witness" in Vegas and this year she has just shot a promo clip with this year's host making fun of her performance last year as in "the elephant in the room", ha.. But what really strucks me is how beautiful she is looking lately, and how happy and fit and just put together she looks nowadays. It seems that she has truly brought her life to a stable, happy place. She just finished her custody battle and her conservatorship is ending soon, she is recording her new album and just lost a ton of weight, looking as the sex symbol she was back in the day.

It really makes me happy to see her like this, because not only as a fan but as a human being it really pained me to see how Britney has suffering earlier this year. I really thought she was going to die tragically but she ended up turning things around and really for the first time in her life being an inspiration for people out there that no matter how bad of a situation you're in, you can always go for the better. So what does the future holds for her? Well, she is nominated twice for this year's VMAS and she has the Madonna cameo video coming out later this month as well as her new album coming out this Christmas.
I just cannot wait to see how Britney turns her life around. I cannot emphasize enough how happy I am to see they new Britney Spears. She has proven that she can literally do it all. The sky is the limit. The world is rooting for ya, Brit.

Life Update

I am just finishing my third week living in the GDL town and I just can say that I'm glad of the things I've accomplished and happy that I'm adjusting so well to this transition. To begin with I fully remodeled my room in my house and it feels very me, full of pictures of my friends, family and my Britney Spears poster LOL. And I've gotten myself a job! Yes, after trying to evade the reponsibility of joining the work force for at least a couple of years I did it.

I'm employed at HTC (Hispanic Teleservices Company) a customer service/sales company for american companies in english. Yes, being a bilingual is a HUGE advantage here in the MX. So I start working next monday and I will be working for ComCast customer service for the area of Houston, Texas yehaa! Yeah I've been there so that might work on my advantage right? Anywho, I am super happy to have a job and I look forward to several long hours of angry customers yelling at me. Good times.

I've also been listening to a lot of Lady Gaga, The Ting Tings, Jason Mraz, Lenny Kravitz and Kylie Minogue.. Interesting mix but good nonetheless. I'm enjoying the company of my family and making new friends. But the only bad thing, my stomach. OMG it's so hard to get used to the food. My american trained stomach is suffering right now with all of the new food and not eating healthy. I DO PROMISE TO START DIET TOMORROW AND TO START WORKING OUT ASAP.

So yeah that's all on the Tony front. PEACE OUT (Homage to Jerk's new post LOL)

OMFG

I could tell you all about my new life here in the GDL town but there is something that just exceeded my level of excitement. Ready for this? Britney Spears just shot a video/short film for Madonna's upcoming "Sticky and Sweet World Tour"!!!

Holy Shit. I like peed my pants. So here is the scoop. Britney shot the video, though is not clear if she finished it, at The Lot studios in LA today. Sources tell E! that Britney shot scenes of her coming through an elevator in a gray hoodie as she gets anxious and starts throwing kicks and punches frantically resulting in her removing the hoodie and chanting the now infamous phrase "It's Britney, bitch" (I CAN DIE NOW). Then dancers come out everywhere and she performs and sings Madonna's 1995 hit "Human Nature" on the video, as Madonna performs the song live on concert. X17 Agency reported Britney shot that scene in a mini skirt/short black ensemble.

The Sun also reports that Britney is also shooting a scene WITH Madonna herself of a mash-up between Madonna's "The Beat Goes On" from her last album and Britney's latest hit "Piece of Me" in which they are both mummified covered in laces and they strip themselves resulting in an almost naked leather string and high boot ensemble in which they dance provocately touching and groping everywhere. This is set to shoot this week. Madonna is reportedly flying to LA for the gig. Sources said this is set to be the "raunchiest" and even "craziest" thing Madonna has done.

But the biggest part, if possible, is this. E! exclusively reports Britney has been tapped to PERFORM ON THE OPENING NIGHT OF THE TOUR THIS AUGUST!!!! OMMG.. Britney will probably perform the mash-up with Madonna. Sources of Britney's camp said Britney is excited but knows she has earned this opportunity. Hell yeah! I mean she is still one of the greatest performers in the world.

I cannot wait to see. Madonna's Mexico City concert tickets are sold out but I will do whatever I can to attend. Britney is defitinely back! And looking greater than ever as you can see in this picture taken yesterday at a hair salon. I LOVE IT.

So what's next?

I've been trying to avoid thinking about it but the time has come. I'm moving out of San Diego, for good, like FOREVER. I'm going back to the homeland and I'm tremendously excited about it. It is going to be a fresh start and I sincerely cannot wait. BUT, I am also going to miss my friends and famiy shitloads, excuse me for the expression but I will. I've been trying to post about my feelings towards it but I rather keep it to myself. I just hope everything goes well and that nothing changes, I really hope to still have my friends when I come back and to make some new experiences with my family back in Guadalajara.

So peace the spork out SD, I will miss ya.

Britney's Upcoming Sixth Studio Album Re-Cap

All right, there is defitinely more important stuff going on in my life, like life-altering events going on this week, but I really just want to block those off and focus on other, more pleasant things. So Britney Spears is defitinely back in the studio working on her sixth studio album. Jive Records excecutives decided to stop all future promotion on "Blackout", including the release of the album's fourth single "Radar", so that Britney could return to the studio and start working on the next production.

Several producers have spoken to the press about working with Britney, all of them have said wonderful things, and here is a list of the producers lined up to work or that have worked with the popstar this far:

- JR Rothem.
- Sean Garrett.
- Darkchild.
- Kara DioGuardi.
- Daimon Elliott.
- Danja.
- Bloodsy & Avant.

Britney has been photographed going in and out of different studios all around LA having recording sessions. According to Rap-Up TV, the album is slated to be released in early 2009. Britney's last album Blackout has sold over 900,000 in the US alone and it should be certified Platinum in my opinion. I CANNOT WAIT for the next production and I hope that it gets the promotion it deserves this time. Britney has been doing so much better and with this new state of mind, it seems obvious to me that next year we'll have the Britney that we know and love back.

MUSIC REVIEW: John Mayer- Where The Light Is (John Mayer Live in Los Angeles)

John Mayer is by far, my favorite musician ever. Since the release of his first album he has managed to capture me with his talent, and my all-time favorite song is a John Mayer classic, "Stop This Train" from his last album, which is an anthem to me. In this new live CD recorded at the Nokia Theater in LA last December, Mayer is undoubtedly at his best.

The way he commands the audience is just undeniable and the soul he put into the album makes you get into the song. Since the beggining to the end, this live record is onee of the most enjoyable productions of this year. The best part of the album is when John Mayer joined by "The John Mayer Trio" play "Out of My Mind" and Mayer comes out with an AMAZING guitar solo that would've brought me to tears If I had them. Every single hit from his career like "Stop This Train", "Daughters", "Neon", "Waiting For the World to Change", and the soulful "Gravity" (also one of my faves) are the highlights of this production. My only complain would be the absense of "Your Body Is A Wonderland".

It would've been amazing as well to have Mayer speak more to the audencie, especially because I found him to be really charming, smart and funny, and one of the most down-to-earth celebrities out there. There is really no wrong done in this album and it will leave you wanting for more. You will wanna run and buy a ticket for Mayer's upcoming American tour right away. Sucks that I'm not going to be in San Diego when he comes here. John Mayer is a soulful, rocking, and talented songwriter and one of the best in the business. And this album just proves it once again.

I'd die to be there..

Daft Punk.. Live.. Technologic

One of those songs..

Today is one chill day. I woke up early unfortunately because I had to go to Saturday school to clear some absenses and then I went to the park right in front of my school to see my little nephiew's little league baseball team kick ass in their game. After that we had a little BBQ and then I got back home just to find i had it all by myself. So I made some popcorn and starting browsing for some music.

When I went to John Mayer's MySpace profile I found this song called "How Much It Hurts", by Just Off Turner, a local LA band. It got me since the first second of it. It is onw of those songs that just gets you. SO I downloaded the album, and I loved it even more. AAAND.. I found out they are going to be playing at 710 Beach Club here in San Diego on July 9th., so i'll deffo be there..

Go to JOT (Just Off Turner)'s MySpace profile to listen the songs, I love the music already.. And here is to the continuation of this day.. it's so good to have some time for ourselves right?

MUST. BE. THERE

Ms. Britney Spears (looking mighty fine at Christian Audigier's B-Day party yesterday, veeery circa 2004). She is reportedly working with Daimon Elliott, JR Rothem and Sean Garrett on her "Blackout" follow-up.

I CANNOT WAIT.

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Hapiness

I have been debating whether or not I should talk about this topic. In my family I've heard comments from "this is the end of the world", to "finally they allowed it!" about this issue. Last week, gay marriage was legalized in California.

This landmark event in American history is going to make millions and millions of same-sex couples in the country able to legalize their union and share last names. I, for once think they should have done it years ago. I think gay couples are no different from any other straight couple out there and I believe that they should have the unalienable rights all American citizens have. This is their time to get what they want and deserve, a final sense of recognition from society and government for their union.

Ellen Degeneres and George Tekkai are going to get married to their respective partners. My uncle Oscar and his longtime partner Rod are probably getting married too and I couldn't be more happy for them. This is just the beggining of a new society that accepts people for who they are not for what they are. This sets an amazing example for other countries of what should be done.

Whether you like it or not, I am completely Pro-Choice on every single aspect of life. It doesn't matter if people choose to be gay or not, they have the right to do whatever they want as long as it doesn't affect people. Congratulations everyone for this great day and I hope you get registered for the wedding very soon!

Is there anything else going on in the world..?

Or why are we making such a big deal of that new Miley Cirus' pictures?

So she posed for Vanity Fair photographed by Annie Leibowitz and she posed back naked covered by a blanket. And the bitch is 15. That comes one week before "another" set of racy pictures that leaked to the Internet.

Ok so we know now that the "Hannah Montana" girl is a slutty little girl. But who isn't nowadays? Just go on MySpace and check every single one of the pics girls in my grade post there. The thing is that she has set for herself an image of a role model that kids should follow, and now everyone is freaking out about those pictures. Like EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE.

So the girl looks like she is 22 when she is only 15. Will she be a slut? Yeaah! I mean she is so following the steps of Britney like it's not even funny. Kids show, music career, worldwide fame, now racy photos. But this will only make her even more famous. And this only shows how our society cannot find anything else to talk about nowadays. Especially now that we're getting ready to elect a new President of the Free World. Very nice, Miley Cirus..

I love my accent

I know. I can barely speak proper English. But I consider myself a hell of a good writer (even if this post is full of gramatical errors). So do not come to me and tell me my English sucks...

I said "Are my eyes red?", not "Do you want to arm-wrestle me?"

ALBUM REVIEW: Madonna- Hard Candy

Allright people, from now on I am going to make weekly album reviews here in my blog. The first one is Madonna's much-hyped about new album "Hard Candy", which comes out this Tuesday and which I got one week before it came out, as in exclusively.

Madonna has always craved attention and has always strived for re-invention. For her last album, "Confessions of a Dance Floor", she adopted a 70's-vibe theme and created a whole amazing concept for it that developed on the music, the look and the tour. For this album, Madonna wanted to go mainstream and hooked up with the "hottest" hip-hop producers on the business, Timbaland, and Pharrell Williams.

I guess you would say it's a safe bet right? Well, it worked for Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, Nelly Furtado and almost every single pop artist last year, but for the Queen of Pop, not so much. Madonna is too big of a legend to put herself out there as everyone else. The first single of this album "4 Minutes" in which she performs with Justin Timberlake as well, is probably the biggest dissapointment of the whole album. This song, which has basically the same elements as every single song on Fergie's album, is a sad attempt to sound relevant and hip in 2008, although it has worked because the song has gone number 1 in the UK and top 5 in the US.

The album as a whole does have some good things. Especially the songs "Candy Shop", "Give it to me", "She is not you" and "The Beat Goes On" featuring Kanye West. Madonna did successfully mixed her pop music standard with the beats of this super-producers. I guess the beats are the only reason the album is half-good, but I was midly dissapointed to see Madonna going for the same bridges on her songs as every single pop act out there.

Madonna is probably the biggest singer in the world. Ever. And in this album she tries too hard to be a current artist, when in reality she is and will always be. If you enjoy songs that completely revolve around beats (which I do sometimes) you will like the album, but If you are expecting a "Ray of Light" kind of album this time, you will be dissapointed. Too much celebrity duets, too much beats, too much synthesizer, and a pop diva that slowly fades throughout the album. I think I will like the new tour better.

P.S: The album is defitinely a grower though, which after 15 times will start sounding better.

One more reason I love Kelly Clarkson

Here is the wonderful Kelly Clarkson performing "Ave Maria" for the Pope in NYC today.

This is love..

One day my mother was eating a "tostada de pata" which is her favorite food ever in the whole wide world. She was enjoying it so much and she had this last bite that she was so looking forward to eat. I then came to the table where she was eating at, and I sat there and I asked her to give me that piece of the tostada because I wanted to eat it. She looked at me and then she looked at the tostada and with a look of resignation in her face she gave it to me. My mother gave up a piece of one of her favorite foods in the world for me.

This is just one little example of my mom's character. She will put my goals, my interests and my desires before hers. She is so giving and caring she will always attend my needs than hers. I love my mom. She is my example, my rock and my everything.

I Miss You and I Love You.

EMO is not a BAD WORD

So I have grown into this world seeing how judgemental our society can be. Judgement and prejudice towards race, sexual preference and physical abilities to say the least. Recently, I have seen in the news how Mexican people are publically beating the so-called "emo" kids. What is an emo kid by the way? Well, they wear skinny jeans, crazy hair and listen to heavy metal on their IPods all day while they take pictures with knives and stuff. They have grown somehow depressed with their own lifes and have the need to rebel against society on a quiet manner.

So how all of this affects us as a whole? They don't. Then why do we feel the need to beat them or criticize them for what they are and CHOSE to be. If they are not affecting anyone but themselves why should we dare to feel like we need to take some action about it. Lets begin to look at ourselves in the mirror and see if we are as "weird" as the emo kids are.

Being different is not bad. I would so rather be an emo kid and be original and stand for what I believe (even if it stands for an anti-social and self-destructive way) than to pretend to be like anyone else just for the plain fact that it seems to be the norm society tells you to be.

Lets be more open-minded and accept people for who they are. As long as their behavior and they life style does not affect anyone but themselves, it is a very respectable way to live, at least in my opinion.

It's been a while..

... but it seems Britney Spears is finally back.

After a rollercoaster of a year, Britney FINALLY seems to be getting it together. She has her whole family supporting (and monitoring) her, she can now see her kids three days a week for a couple of hours, and has just gotten herself a new acting agent, Jason Trawick from the William Morris Agency who just got her a new CAMEO IN "HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER"!!

Oh gosh, that's soo cool! Who would ever thought Britney was going to go from the psych ward to the TV sets! The episode is supposed to air on March 24th. and she is filming it RIGHT NOW. She will play, Abby, a recepcionist who falls in love with the main character. I have never seen the show but I'm sooo going to watch it. It airs on CBS.

And, today was premiered her third video of her album "Blackout"! Goshh.. are we back in 2002 or what? hehe.. The video for one of my favorite songs "Break the Ice" premiered online through a special website which fans had to find a password in order to get in. And the video is an animation.. yeah, I mean how in the world Jive Records wanted Britney to shoot a video while she was dealing with her disorder.. Anyways the video is really cool and really symbolic if you pay attention to it. Britney has always been such a groundbreaking artist.

Check it out!!

P.S: Oh by the way, it was just announced "Blackout" has just sold 2 million copies worldwide.. Take that haters!

Ooouch!

Dude, so I went to Orson's Well, Arizona for a fun weekend out in the desert with my family and some friends right? It was all supposed to be super fun and great. It was. I drank a lot, I eat a lot, I overall had a great time.

But..

I was riding in a Rhino Bike with my cousin and he had a bit too much drinks so he tipped over and the rhino fell down, crushing my right foot. My right fucking foot! I am so glad I didn't break it. But I did sprained it, big time. It is really swollen and it hurts a lot. I do not know how am I going to be able to walk to school tomorrow. And what's worst.. I am not going to be able to go to the gym and run anymore for a long time. That really sucks.

So yeah.. it was defitinely an eventful weekend. Peace.

Music's Biggest Night

The Grammys came and went without a hitch. My Amy Winehouse won 5 awards and Kany West won a bunch as well. There was a really heartfelt Beatles honoring and a peak of the Cirque Du Solei Beatles' show. I love the Grammys every year but I defitinely think this year was the best in a while.

The ratings were low but I thought the award show was amazing and they defitinely praised the best album of the year, the wonderful "Back to Black". Here are my favorite amazing performances... Really, really good job and congratz to the Academy for their 50th. Anniversary.

Rihanna Ft. The Time (Umbrella, Don't Stop the Music)

AMY WINEHOUSE AMAZING PERFORMANCE (I'm No Good, and Rehab)

Alicia Keys and Frank Sinatra.. wonderful

Beyonce and Tina Turner (Rolling Down the River, Deja Vu, mix of Turner's hits)

BIG (IMPORTANT) TUESDAY

Primaries for the Presidential Elections came yesterday and every single American citizen came out tp cast their vote for the new President of the Free World. With a really tight presidential race, John McCain won for the Republicans and Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton were almost as popular in every single State and District.

I completely support the Democrat Party, and I believe either Obama or Clinton are great candidates to be the President of thr United States of America. Either way, history will be made by having the first African-American or the first women President. I think this country is ready for a change that completely represents the variety of this country and what is really happening right now. Both candidates, especially Barack Obama are so refreshing and their propositions seem to be really good. I have never been so supportive of the politics until now.

Get informed, form an opinion, and cast your vote. Help make American history happen.

Soundbites..

Dude I haven't had any time to update the blog. I have so much homework every day and like everytime is so hectic I can't take it anymore. But still, I heard about Heath Ledger's death... like, he's DEAD. Oh my god I'm still shocked, If someone would've told me that a celebrity died I would've think it was Britney, not Heath.

Anyways that was so sad, but the happy news is that my dear Amy Winehouse (whose album was my favorite of 07) will be performing at the Grammys this year. Part of her preparatiom for her performance?? Rehab!! Yes.. she finally said yes, yes, yes to Rehab and checked herself in after an intervention by her family, friends, managment and record label. All of that after the video of her doing crack hit the Internet.

So yeah.. that was big (for me), and now I have to keep doing homework on this really rainy day, probably the coldest day of the year... So peace out!

I don't even know what to say anymore...

Yesterday Britney Spears refused to give up her children visitation and held one in hostage. Police and fire trucks arrived to her house,as well as Paramedics. Britney and her little boy Jayden James were transferred to the hospital. Britney Spears is currently on mental lockdown for 72 hours at the Cedars- Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. There is several pictures of her being carried out outside the mental facility.

How in the world did it all turned out like this?

She is now being treated for bipolar disorder and there is a hearing under way to revoke Britney's visitation rights forever. She is now a danger to herself and her children. She is considered a patient with "special needs". I am heartbroken. It has been so sad during the past year or so, to see Britney slowly digging her grave. Her life wont be the same anymore. I cannot wish anything but the best for her and I ask you all to pray for her well being.

Britney, I still love you.

UPDATE: Britney has lost every single visitation with her children until further notice, police announced there was not alcohol or drugs involved and the buzz is that she suffers from bipolar disorder. Britney just left the hopsital mental ward after a visit from Dr. Phil (WTF?). Come on, Original Doll!

Gearing up for 08

2008 will be the greatest year of my life. I can assure you. 07' was amazing but I just have a feeling this year will be better. Here are my 08' resolutions:

1. Graduate High School and finally enter college.
2. Make my moving experience as pleasant as possible.
3. Get a job.
4. Learn to drive and get my driving license.
5. Learn another language (french or portuguese).
